About Us
Mission Statement
Textile Bonding is, and will remain. New Zealand's leader in Textile Processing. The company will, through continuous improvement, be an internationally competitive manufacturer, providing goods and services which meet our customers' needs.
History
The business was started from scratch in 1978 by Richard Yates and Dave Tibby. It began operating in Auckland as a commission processor of all types of fabric and in recent years has moved to sell proprietary blackout curtain linings. These processes involve both laminating and coating. In those 27 years we have moved three times to larger premises as the business has expanded. We entered the crushed acrylic foam process for curtains in 1989 and are now supplying this product to Australasia, North and South America, UK, Europe and South East Asia.
Quality
There is a strong ethic of quality in the company with every staff member being involved in our Total Quality Management program and the regular meetings that involves. We believe that most of the improvement in productivity, quality and customer service over recent years has come from these staff meetings. Through this continuous improvement we have now reached the stage where independent observers (machinery and raw material suppliers) regularly tell us that, although not the largest coater in the World, we are equal to the best in the business.
